MAC Proxy Configuration Guide

Before configuring the proxy, please purchase a proxy [Residential Proxy Purchase Tutorial], and extract the IP address [IP Address Extraction Tutorial].

Here, we use an example of setting up and using residential proxy account and password extracted IP on macOS Sonoma 14.5.

1. Click on the “Apple Icon” in the top left corner of the screen, and select “System Preferences.” The System Preferences window will open.

2. In the System Preferences window, click on “Network.” This will take you to the network settings window, then click on “Wi-Fi” to open the Wi-Fi details page.

3. In the Wi-Fi details page, click on “Proxies,” which will take you to the proxy settings page.

4. In the pop-up window, select the type of proxy protocol you want to use (HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS5, etc.). Here, we use a secure web proxy as an example. If you previously chose account and password extraction, make sure to enable the proxy server password requirement.

5. Enter the generated “Proxy Server Address” and “Port.” Then, input the “Sub-account Username” and “Password.” Click “OK” to confirm.

6. After finishing, open your browser, and in the pop-up window, enter the MAC computer password and click “Always Allow.”

7. Open a new window and visit an IP address detection website. Check if the IP address has changed to the proxy’s IP. Finally, visit other websites to test the connection, ensuring everything is working properly.
